Airstream CLIPPER BUS Class A, on Freightliner V Line Chassis, 29500 GVW. Cummins CT300, Allison 3060, Alco 22", Powertech diesel generator.
Classed as 36', 8.5' wide, 12.2' high. RAISED RAIL Chassis, Aluminium upper superstructure. Highest power/weight ratio of any Class A in 1996. Huge storage capacity with C/C of approx, 6000 lbs. Unmatched navigator comfort and visibility in this last side entry model Class A, Airstream ever built.
This "top of the line" premium coach of the day is still in original decor, and is in very good condition for the year. This unit was the second last one built, on the assembly line in Jackson Center, OH, where production of the premium large Class A, with Cummins power, was suspended until the year 2000, when all units were equipped with CAT power. (Don't confuse the CLIPPER with the Airstream Cutter, which was on the light chassis and classed as 35'.)
